Thick 1.3-pound jump rope for adding heavy resistance to your jump rope workouts.
NEW upgraded handles include dual-ball bearings for smoother spin. This also fixes an issue with the cord rubbing and wearing at the handle.
Why this rope? If you want a quicker cardio workout and a heavier burn in your shoulders and forearms. You will definitely feel the burn using this rope for even short amounts of time.
- 12mm diameter hollow core PVC rope
- Industrial grade 4.75" long dual-ball bearing handles (rope is secured in handle with a metal bolt).
- Dual ball bearings in handles improve spin and eliminate PVC wear at handle.
- 8ft: recommended for heights 5'8" and under
- 9ft: recommended for heights 5'8" - 6'3"
- 10ft: recommended for heights 6'3" and taller
Note - These ropes are not adjustable. If you are experienced and have your hands closer to hips, then you will likely benefit from going down in size if you are in and around a height boundary. An experienced jumper with good form can take off about 1ft from these recommendations.
Please also be aware, the 1.3lb weight is the weight of the 9ft with handles - the weight is different for different lengths. See weights below (incl handles):
This rope is therefore similar to a 1lb rope in context of the wider jump rope market.
- Quicker cardio workouts
- Build forearm and hand strength
- Engaging should/arm/core/back muscles that don't normally get a workout while jumping rope
- Improving single under and double under strength and endurance in shoulders
Having never tried using a heavy rope before I was amazed at how much of an intense workout I got from it. After just thirty seconds my arms felt like jelly & my hands were aching with the effort. After only a few days I can feel my strength & stamina building rapidly.
I would thoroughly recommend this piece of equipment to anyone seriously interested in fitness.
The 1.3lbs Weighted Rope is insane! I’m standing at 184cm (6”1) and got the Red 9ft rope, absolutely perfect for what I was after. The ultimate rope that I have tried in terms of muscular endurance, “feel the burn”. In only 5-10 rotations (definitely recommend a warm up prior to using this rope) you can already feel that your arms are going to be in for a killer workout. This rope also works the back and core in places that a normal jump rope wouldn’t activate. If you’re using this rope make sure you use a mat if outside to reduce wear and tear. 10/10 cannot fault.
Serious skipping for the ultimate workout !
This rope was definitely worth the price!
(please excuse my language choices, I have no idea of the proper skipping technical terms!!)
My first rope was a cheap one from amazon. I was struggling to get the right technique with it, despite it being a lighter rope.
Now this rope was completely different! I could keep my jumps lower to the ground, and because of the way its made, it took just a flick of the wrist to make it swing round. (The amazon one was like winding an old washing machine in comparison).
Now don't mistake the above for thinking its an easy work out- I am absolutely knackered. I could feel it working my stomach muscles, and now look like a sweating tomato.
All in all if you want a good rope, which will work your core, this is the one for you.
My reason for four stars is because I would suggest a jump mat. I am a skipping novice, but I can see that a mat would make the wear and tear less on this rope.
